We are deeply saddened by the passing of Gerald Williams, a pioneer and an outstanding long time supporter of Christians in Sport, who died yesterday at the age of 86. Gerald was a former BBC television and radio tennis commentator.
Christians in Sport founder, Andrew Wingfield Digby paid tribute to Gerald:
'Gerald Williams and Alan Godson were really the key players in establishing sports ministry in the UK. Backed financially by Kenneth Frampton at Deo Gloria Trust they were the first to catch the vision of 'reaching the world of sport for Christ' being promoted by Eddie Waxer. We have lost one of our very greatest pioneers.'
