Track & Field Athletics
Pray for athletes competing at track and field events spaced around the Olympic Games. Give thanks for the group of athletes that meet to study the Bible at these events including yesterday’s London Diamond League. Pray that the Bible studies in particular would serve the athletes really well.
Continue to pray for the 2024 Sports Mission Pack, which includes resources to help churches, sports clubs and individuals to make the most of opportunities to engage sportspeople with the gospel. Pray that the pack would be used widely to share the good news of Jesus around major sporting events this year.
Young Performance Athlete (YPA) Parents & Guardians
Pray for YPA parents & guardians as they continue to support their children in the highs and lows of elite youth sport. Pray God would give them wisdom in making decisions and help them model Jesus however their child performs.
Pray for Sports Plus as young people arrive at Brecon, Belfast 1 and Monkton 1 this Sunday. Pray for the teams of leaders at each camp as they spend time training and preparing over the weekend, pray they would trust in God’s sovereign rule and take the opportunities He gives them to share the Good News with young people throughout the week.
Swansea and Neath Network Quiz
Pray for the Swansea and Neath local network quiz tonight. Pray that Christians would be bold in inviting friends to come to enjoy the quiz and hear something of the good news of Jesus through a short gospel talk during the evening.
Paris Olympic Games
As the Olympic Games open today, pray for Christian athletes, coaches and staff to know their identity is secure in Christ as they experience the pressure to perform at the highest level. Pray that churches and individuals would make the most of these two weeks to share faith with local sportspeople.
Pray for Graham Daniels as he speaks at the Keswick Convention this week on living for Christ in the public square through fulfilment, authenticity and witness. Pray that those listening will be encouraged in their faith and equipped to live and speak for Jesus to those around them.
