Sunday, 21st December

Resources

Give thanks to God for enabling the production of resources in 2025, from publishing our new book ‘Spiritual Game Plan’, to writing articles each month, sharing weekly Game Day devotions, and posting daily on social media. Pray that God would use our resources to enable people to connect their passion for sport with faith in Jesus.

Monday, 22nd December

The Sports Quiz

Give thanks for the Sports Quiz and how God used this resource in 2025 to reach the world of sport for Christ. Pray that God would continue to use the Sports Quiz and mission resources in 20265 to help sportspeople engage with the good news of Jesus as Christians invite their friend to come.

Tuesday, 23rd December

Elite and Young Performance Athletes (YPAs)

Give thanks that, in 2025, 200 Group Bible studies, and 220 1-2-1s took place with athletes at an elite level within their sport. Pray that God would enable more opportunities to disciple top-level athletes in 2026.

Wednesday, 24th December

Students

Give thanks to God for students seeking to live and speak for Jesus in their sports teams. Give thanks that, in 2025, 95% of university group members said they’d had gospel conversations with teammates, 40% took a teammate to church, and 20% had read the Bible with a teammate.

Thursday, 25th December

Christmas Day

Give thanks for the gracious gift of God entering the world, both fully human and fully God, to rescue us from sin. Pray that God would use Christian sportspeople to share this wonderful news over Christmas so that others may hear it and put their trust in Jesus for salvation.

Friday, 26th December

Sports Plus

Give thanks to God for the 10 Sports Plus camps that ran over in the summer of 2025, enabling nearly 1,000 young people to enjoy high quality sport and connect their love for sport with faith in Jesus. Pray that the 10 camps planned 2026 would engage more young people with the good news of Jesus.

Saturday, 27th December

The Reach Project

Give thanks to God for enabling 35 projects in areas of deprivation in the UK as part of The Reach Project. From running Sports Plus Xtra, to our ‘Thrive’ sport and faith curriculum in schools, and much more, give thanks that these projects, delivered through 20 partners, reached 4,870 young in 2025.

Sunday, 28th December

Elite sport

Pray for elite athletes who are away from home, training or competing during the Christmas period. Pray that athletes in this situation may have time to reflect on the true wonder of Christmas and may be able to connect with other Christians wherever they are in the world.

Monday, 29th December

Research

Give thanks for the opportunity to launch two new research projects in 2025 within the contexts of professional football and young performance athlete pathways. Pray that research enables better understanding and practice as we work to make disciples of all sportspeople.

Tuesday, 30th December

Resources

Pray for the preparation of resources to share before and during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a tract and the Sports Quiz. Pray that these would serve sportspeople well as they look to live and speak for Jesus.

Wednesday, 31st December

International leadership training

Give thanks for the Global Leadership Development Programme, launched in 2023, that has now supported partners in over 40 countries. Pray for the existing relationships we have in over 150 countries and pray that God continues enable leaders in sports mission to learn and grow together.

Thursday, 1st January

New Year 2025

Give thanks for God’s gift of sport that has been a means for Christians to worship God and share the good news of Jesus in 2025. Pray that 2026 will see God continuing to raise up more Christians to reach the world of sport for Christ!

Friday, 2nd January

New Year Training

Pray for our annual conference, New Year Training. Pray that attendees would be encouraged as they come together in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland for 3 days of Bible teaching, sport and friendship.

Saturday, 3rd January

Young Performance Athletes (YPAs)
Give thanks for the two groups of YPAs (15-17 & 19-23yr old) that meet regularly online to read the Bible, share fellowship, and pray. Pray these groups would be a genuine support to each YPA as they go through the highs and lows of performance pathway sport.
