Sports Plus Xtra
Pray for the team from Christians in Sport and volunteers running Sports Plus Xtra at The Fulham Boys School this Monday and Tuesday. Across both days young people will take part in specialist basketball, football and rugby coaching, alongside a Bible teaching program enabling them to hear the good news of Jesus and understand how that connects to a passion for sport.
Monday, 7th April
Local network gatherings
Pray for three network prayer gatherings this evening in Ammanford, Birmingham and Swansea. Pray that these gatherings would encourage Christian sportspeople as they pray and together look to reach local sportspeople with the good news of Jesus.
Tuesday, 8th April
Elite Cricket
As the domestic cricket season begins, give thanks for the small number of Christian players we know and support. Pray that God would raise up more Christians within elite cricket and that we’d be able to connect with and support them to live and speak for Jesus.
Wednesday, 9th April
London Marathon
Pray for Gregory Kratt as he prepares to run the London Marathon on the 27th April, raising money for the Sports Plus Bursary Fund which enables young people and leaders to attend Sports Plus camps who would otherwise not have been able to.
Thursday, 10th April
Parents & guardians of Young Performance Athletes (YPAs)
Pray for the group of YPA parents & guardians that meet monthly online to discuss sport and faith, share their experiences of the world of elite sport and pray. Pray these gatherings continue to be a huge encouragement for those who join.
Friday, 11th April
Glasgow network sports quiz
Pray for the sports quiz this evening hosted by the Glasgow local network. Pray for boldness as Christian sportspeople invite friends to come to the quiz and pray that guests would continue to consider the good news of Jesus after the event.
Saturday, 12th April
The Boat Race
As the Boat Race runs tomorrow give thanks for the small number of Christians we know and support in the world of elite rowing. Give thanks for Christian rowers Anastasia Posner and Chris Rimmer who have both previously competed in the race and shared their experiences on the Christians in Sport Podcast.
