Pray for Christian athletes competing at the World Athletics Relay Championships in Botswana this weekend. Give thanks for the group of Elite track and field athletes we support through regular online and in person Bible studies.
Monday, 3rd May
Elite Football
Give thanks for the number of Christian players, coaches and staff we support within elite football, through regular online Bible study groups and 1-2-1 fellowship. Pray for those facing uncertainty with contracts or injury as the current domestic season draws to a close.
Tuesday, 4th May
Game Day
Over 2,500 people receive Game Day - a weekly devotion from Christians in Sport - each week. Pray that the current series in 1 Thessalonians would encourage competitive and elite sportspeople to live and speak for Jesus as they train and compete.
Wednesday, 5th May
The Reach Project
Pray for the ‘Reach’ projects taking place in areas of need across the UK, which seek to engage young sportspeople with the good news of Jesus. Pray that God would continue to guide the development of effective models and resources, as well as identifying more partnerships to enable this work to grow.
Thursday, 6th May
Oxford & Cambridge Partner Evenings
Give thanks for the opportunity to host ten evenings in churches around the UK to celebrate 50 years of God's faithfulness in sport, share vision for the future, and grow partnership with Christian in Sport to enable the next season. Pray that Partner Evenings tonight in Oxford, and tomorrow night in Cambridge, encourage all who attend.
Friday, 7th May
Women’s Elite Sport
Give thanks for the small group of elite sportswomen from a range of different sports who meet regularly online to pray and read the Bible together. Pray for opportunities to connect with and support more sportswomen in this way.
Saturday, 8th May
St Andrew’s Rushmere May Festival
Give thanks for the opportunity for Graham Daniels to join Omar Beckles, Chair of the Professional Footballers Association, to host an evangelistic breakfast during St Andrew’s Church May Festival. Pray that God uses the event to enable local sportspeople to hear the good news of Jesus.
