Students
Give thanks for Christians in Sport university group leaders as academic terms finish.
Pray that they’d have a restful time during the Christmas break and come back to university renewed and re-energised to lead students seeking to live and speak for Jesus in their university sports clubs.
Monday, 16th December
New Year Training
Pray for our annual conference, New Year Training, as it starts in Northern Ireland today. Pray that attendees would be encouraged as they come together for 3 days of Bible teaching, sport and friendship.
Tuesday, 17th December
International leadership training
Pray for the cohort of leaders in sports ministry from across Europe currently undertaking the Mentor Development Pathway Europe (MDP) course. Pray for that the 10-month course would encourage them in their faith and help enable them to use their gifts to reach the world of sport for Christ.
Wednesday, 18th December
New Year Training
Give thanks for the New Year Training conference in Northern Ireland as it finishes today. Pray that attendees would go away with a deeper love for Christ and be encouraged to share Him with their sports friends. Pray for the remaining New Year Training conferences in England and Scotland in January.
Thursday, 19th December
Elite sport
Pray for elite athletes who have busy training or playing schedules during Christmas. Pray that athletes in this situation may have time to reflect on the true wonder of Christmas and may be able to enjoy fellowship with other Christians in between games and training sessions.
Friday, 20th December
Game Day
Give thanks for the devotional resource, ‘Game Day’ that over 2,000 people receive weekly. Pray that the current series on the Christmas story in Luke chapter 2 would excite sportspeople with the good news of Jesus and encourage them to share this news with their teammates.
Saturday, 21st December
Back Pages Magazine
As the winter Back Pages Annual Review is released, pray that it would encourage partners who support the Christians in Sport through prayer and giving as they read stories from around the work of reaching sportspeople with the good news of Jesus.
