Overview
A 12-month hybrid Internship programme; a flexible offer for young adults (early 20s) who have been identified as potential leaders for the future.
We are excited to offer a range of different options for the Internship that suit your needs. This can include your location and/or the time you have available to attend the various aspects of the programme. In your application please tell us what would work best for you.
Purpose
The main purposes of the Internship are to:
- help mature Interns in faith and gospel conviction.
- train up Interns to be leaders of the mission in the future.
- help Interns discern a future ministry vocation and provide a stepping stone for the next steps.

What do you get up to:
- Formal training (c.2 days a week) – a mix of online and in person theological training.
- In-person ‘block weeks’ for mission and training (up to six a year).
- Mission delivery (1-3 days a week) – working with university students, schools, guest events, Sports Plus, our Reach programme for sportspeople living in areas of derivation and the potential for an international mission trip.
- Receive regular mentoring from Christians in Sport staff
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for young adults (early 20s) who have a passion for evangelism and experience of delivering and leading in aspects of reaching sportspeople with the gospel.
How much does it cost?
The internship is an unpaid position with the option for accommodation provided free of charge for Interns placed centrally (Oxfordshire). Interns who are not based in the CiS accommodation in Oxfordshire will need to cover their own accommodation costs. Training course costs and expenses will be paid for by CIS.
Where will interns be based?
Christians in Sport will offer a limited number of centrally based Internship spaces in Oxfordshire. Interns can also be recruited from locations that allow for regular travel to one of our regional staff locations (Edinburugh, London, Belfast, South Wales).

Prospective Interns can apply through our online form. The second stage of the application process will be an interview with Christians in Sport staff, with references from your church being taken as well.
